True Love

Do you love your spouse?

Do you love your spouse when.....

.....he brings you flowers?

.....she shows an interest in your work?

.....he washes the dishes?

Do you love your spouse when.....

.....he embarrasses you in public?

.....she overdraws the bank account?

.....he lies to you?

When Jesus described His relationship to the church,

He chose the picture of a Groom and His bride.

Jesus loves the church when.....

.....she is faithful and true

.....and when she turns her back on Him

.....when she worship Him

.....and when she crucifies Him on a cross

and when she hurts Him, He prays, "Father, forgive them."

Jesus teaches us.....

Love is not a "feeling" that comes and goes.

Love is not an emotion that we fall in and out of.

Love is not just a simple reaction to your spouse's behaviour.

Jesus teaches us that love is a COMMITMENT

A commitment to love you spouse.....

for better, for worse

for richer, for poorer

in sickness, and in health

until death do us part
